Blog Probs

I've been having formatting issues with my blog. Since there isn't anyone to contact regarding this; I'm stuck. To thicken the plot, my cousin informed me that Blog Spot mysteriously erased all of her blogs that she had written for two years.

For these reasons I'm hesitant to continue my blog. I'm researching alternative blog sites so I can continue blogging.

Staying Dry On a Wet Day

While Sarah was in pre-school today, the other kids and I ventured out. On our way to the library, we dodged raindrops and stopped at Starbucks. Since it was the first rain of the season, I wanted to commemorate it with a nice, warm mocha. The kids shared a blueberry muffin. After we made a fine mess at the coffee shop, we continued on to the library. Lauren enjoyed picking out a truckload of books while Zachary crawled all over the place.

Sarah's 1st Pre-School Field Trip

Sarah and I went on a field trip with her pre-school class. It was Sarah's first school field trip. We went to Tanaka Farms. The weather was cool and soggy, it looked like it would rain at any moment. Luckily it didn't.

There are 12 kids in the class and all 12 moms came along. The kids got to ride on a tractor, pet the animals, pick vegetables and their own pumpkin. The standing rule of the farm is that the child must be able to lift and carry their own pumpkin. I was surprised that Sarah was able to carry the huge pumpkin that she chose.

It was fun to see Sarah interact with her school friends. I was surprised that she and her friend Rachel, who lives next door, didn't spend much time together. They play together for hours each day. Maybe they're sick of each other. After the field trip we squeezed in some extra mommy 'n me time. We did a little shopping and had lunch nearby.

Lauren and Zachary went to Irvine Park with Daddy on their own little field trip. Today was Columbus Day; he had the day off. They rode on the train, checked out pumpkins, went to the zoo and played at the park.

Today was a fun and memorable day.

Baby Buns

I just love squishy little baby buns! They're the cutest.

Cheese Zombie Update

My cheese zombies were gross. I'm going to try again though. There were dough issues. If I can figure out how to make the dough less dense, we'll be in business. Although they tasted like baseballs, there was great potential in these great masses of dough and cheese.

Cheese Zombies

Cheese zombies. These unhealthy blobs of dough, oozing with melted cheese were my favorite cafeteria food in high school. A former student tracked down the official Mount Diablo Unified School District Cheese Zombie recipe and shared it with alumni.

Tonight we're eating cheese zombies, tomato soup and salad for dinner. It's my first time, and hopefully not last, making these diet busters.

Here's to hoping they turn out like those we remember so well in high school...

The Morning After

Although it was a late night for us parents, the kids still awoke at the stroke of 6:15 a.m. Life resumed as normal in the Bottiaux home this morning.

Lauren, who prefers her birthday suit over clothes, enjoyed click clacking around in Mommy's shoes. While Zachary, who cut another bottom tooth last night, smeared his breakfast all over his happy little face.

Night Out

Every now and again we have a night out. The kids had fun staying up late, watching lots of t.v. and making rice crispy treats with Grandma at home. We got to hit the town.

This particular night out was at the new dueling piano bar. The last time I set foot into a piano bar was almost ten years ago, at my bachelorette party. That was a wild time...and a whole other story! Our good friends the Schlesingers, Sheetsand Cruz's met up with us.

Pay no attention to the "Dirty Dogs" sign behind the ladies. :)

Interpreting Sarah's Art

One of Sarah's favorite pastimes is coloring pictures. With the recent addition of their brother, and, well -- all the new anatomy that comes along with him -- the girls have been more "aware" of certain things. Paul and I saw this picture, and thought we were going to have to talk with Sarah about drawing inappropriate pictures.

When we asked Sarah to describe this picture, she proudly stated that the lower "extremities" were merely the drawstring of the girl's skirt.

Aparently we need to get our minds out of the gutter!

Zachary's Fangs

Zachary's "fangs" arrived just in time for Halloween! This picture was taken tonight while he was becoming one with his spaghetti dinner.

Nursery Rhyme Class

Lauren had a blast at her last nursery rhyme class today. Messes were plentiful and she had really warmed up to her teachers. Even Zachary managed to adorn himself with black paint. Today's featured nursery rhyme was "The Itsy Bitsy Spider".

Learing to Blog

It's about time I started a blog. Facebook was getting too overloaded with all of my postings and family pictures. :)

I'm remorseful that I didn't start a blog immediately following Sarah's birth. But, I suppose it's better late than never.

I'm not too sure of what I'm doing or how to do it. But, I'll just start and learn as I go.

Today was a pre-school day for Sarah. Since one of her classmates found lice in their hair, all the girls had to wear their hair in pony tails today. It was "brown day". She had to wear something brown to school. Lauren wanted to get in on the act also.
